Getting to Port Hamble

 

Tigger 2 is moored in Port Hamble Marina, (023 8045 2741, http://www.porthamblemarina.co.uk).  Hamble is approximately 6 miles southeast of Southampton.

 

  

 

 

By Road:

Exit junction 8 from the M27 signposted for Southampton East / Hamble.  Follow signs for Hamble on B3397, Hamble lane.  After approximately 3 miles you will arrive at a mini-roundabout by the entrance to the old village of Hamble.  Then turn left into Satchell Lane (signposted to Port Hamble Marina).  The entrance to the marina is about 50 metres along on the right.

 

By Rail:

From the mainline station at Southampton Central a local service operates to Hamble station.  From Hamble rail station a local bus service operates to Hamble village.  After alighting from the bus at Hamble village, proceed to the left along into Satchell Lane (signposted to Port Hamble Marina).  The entrance to the marina is about 50 metres along on the right. 

 

Alternatively alight at Southampton Airport (last stop before Southampton when coming from London) and take a taxi at a cost of about £16.

 


Finding Tigger 2

 

Tigger 2 is in berth C30, as shown on the map below. 

 

Take the slipway directly in front of the Ancasta offices and the Square Rigger pub, and turn left along pontoon C.  Tigger 2 is on the left towards the end.

Everything should be packed into a reasonably sized soft holdall – there’s not very much space in the cabins if the yacht is full of people.
